Regenerative Farmers Malaysia
Regenerative Farmers Malaysia was founded by Michael Ong and his family as part of their initiative to develop food production in harmony with nature. Located in Padang Regas, in the state of Perak, Malaysia, the farm raises laying hens in a pasture-based system, with access to the outdoors and management practices based on regenerative principles.
The operation uses mobile tractors, a system that allows for the rotation of the areas used by the birds and contributes to soil recovery. The model was developed to provide better rearing conditions and meet the hens’ needs throughout the production cycle.
All current free-range egg production has received Certified Humane® certification. This achievement followed compliance with Humane Farm Animal Care’s (HFAC) international animal welfare standards, with an independent assessment of the practices adopted.
During the process of adapting to the program’s standards, the farm established new controls for feeding, bird health, mortality, and production. It also made adjustments to the management system to meet requirements for space, environmental enrichment, and equipment. Ensuring the availability of feed ingredients that met the program’s criteria was another challenge faced.

Following certification, the team began monitoring the birds’ health and behavior in greater detail. The change resulted in chickens that were calmer, more active, and more engaged with their environment, exhibiting behaviors such as foraging.
In addition to pasture-raised production, the farm practices crop rotation and avoids the use of antibiotics and harmful additives. The certified eggs are sold directly to consumers in the Klang Valley, Penang, and Malacca regions.
Regenerative Farmers Malaysia plans to expand certification to new flocks and future product lines, maintaining a production model based on responsible management and regenerative agriculture. Follow the company on Instagram and Facebook.
