Sam’s Trade
With a vision to produce eggs through ethical, sustainable, and humane farming practices, Sam’s Trade pursued Certified Humane® certification to reinforce its long-standing commitment to animal welfare and responsible agriculture. Founded in 2016 with just 300 birds, the company has grown into one of India’s emerging producers of premium cage-free and organic eggs, supplying leading retailers, quick-commerce platforms such as BigBasket and Zepto, and renowned hospitality brands like Hilton, Taj, Oberoi etc.
Sam’s Trade first learned about the Certified Humane® program through its partnerships with customers who prioritized responsible sourcing and internationally recognized animal welfare standards. Since humane farming had always been central to the company’s philosophy, obtaining Certified Humane® certification was a natural step in its journey toward global best practices.
To achieve certification, the company implemented the Certified Humane® standards across its production systems in 2 of its 4 farms through continuous improvements in farm management, employee training, biosecurity, and animal care. Every stage of production is guided by a commitment to providing birds with an environment that supports their natural behaviors while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, quality, and traceability.
Today, Sam’s Trade as a whole employs more than 157 people, operating 4 farms across 75 acres. From rearing to egg production and distribution, every aspect of the business reflects its dedication to ethical farming, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
Certified Humane® certification represents more than a standard for Sam’s Trade—it reflects the company’s belief that animal welfare, environmental stewardship, and premium-quality food production are inseparable. By embracing internationally recognized welfare practices, Sam’s Trade continues to build consumer trust while contributing to a more responsible and sustainable future for agriculture in India.
