Abhilash Hatcheries – Eggsclusive Club

Founded in January 2025, Eggsclusive Club is a small Indian company created with the purpose of producing eggs ethically, ensuring high standards of animal welfare, and prioritizing quality over volume as its business focus.

With a focus on the long-term health of the hens, its operation goes beyond the basic requirements of the cage-free system. The company adopts conscious and responsible management, offering high-quality feed, carefully selected and supplemented with natural grass grown on its own property.

The project started with 500 laying hens and grew in a planned manner, always guided by care for the birds and excellence in the final product. In a few months, the positive results drove the expansion of the operation. Currently, Eggsclusive Club operates with three sheds and 1,500 laying hens, achieving production that is fully aligned with certified animal welfare standards and generating approximately 8,000 eggs per week.

Since its founding, these practices have been part of the enterprise’s routine. Certified Humane® certification was understood as the most appropriate way to officially validate this commitment, ensure production traceability, and expand the product’s reach to consumers who demand international animal welfare standards.

The process of adapting to the certification criteria brought challenges, such as the difficulty of accessing hens raised outside the cage system and the need to maintain compliance in a region where there are still few production units that follow certified animal welfare standards.

These obstacles reinforce the pioneering nature of the initiative and the rigor required to operate within a system truly committed to the welfare of birds. Currently, Eggsclusive Club eggs are sold locally in Kochi through direct sales to consumers. With certification, the expectation is to expand operations to hotels and other commercial customers.
